Pure Americana, the fidelity of detailing and perfect scaling of accessories and amounts contributes largely to their personality and gentle humor with which they are portrayed. Made of padded wire frames covered with jersey, each figure is dressed authentically. Faces are molded to achieve effect rather than as literal representations of features. Mouth and eyes are embroidered. Each one is an original, not too many of them are around. Some have found their way into museums.” I purchased the doll in 1974 from LaVerne Kowalaski of Lansing, Illinois.
