The Golfer

Jacqueline Kent Golfer-

12″ Resin The Golfer from the Town Folks Series by Jacqueline Kent . The doll came with the following poem:

Eighteen holes of golfing just never seems enough.

Despite the strokes come easily, the ball lands in the rough.

Those rushing streams of nature that seem always in the way,

Enhance the very challenge and they help to make the day.

At times the ol’  nine iron wraps itself around the tree,

A minor inconvenience and it can’t discourage me.

And then there’s always those ahead, who choose to just ignore.

The fact that I am warming them by loudly yelling ‘Fore’.

When rain appears from nowhere and saturates the green,

It’s a trifle imposition that the golf ball can’t be seen.

Just eighteen holes of golfing on the greens or in the rough,

I’ll call it quits at thirty six or once I’ve had enough.”

I purchased in 2005 from the Doll Market.
