15 1/2″ Vinyl 1999 “Blue Goddess” Gene. The “Blue Goddess” has the following story:
“Hot news in Hollywood this month: the color of Gene Marshall’s eyes! In “Blue Goddess,” the camera just can’t seem to tear itself away from her mesmerizing baby-blues…unless it’s to reveal her knockout figure in a gown that was designed to match those eyes to a T! “Blue Goddess” may be the stolen gem that gives this film its title, but it’s Gene who deserves the title of ‘goddess’ here!”
“Blue Goddess is circa 1945 and was designed by Tim Kennedy.
Gene is wearing the 2000 “First Stop Chicago” outfit. The outfit has the following story:
“The train slowed to a stop and Gene looked out the train window to see Chicago with its skyscrapers and elevated trains by Lake Michigan. A whirlwind tour of the Windy City’s best stores left Gene beautifully dressed in the latest fashion, courtesy of the studio. Gene would wear the fur-trimmed suit in blue to make her radio debut on gossip columnist Cora Harper’s ‘Non-Stop’ Hollywood show. The ‘Applause’ sign glowed as Cora took over the microphone.’ My dears’, she intoned, ‘Monolithic Studios’-and -latest discovery, Miss Gene Marshall, the young lady you’ve heard so much about, is in our fair city between trains on her way to Tinsel Town. Perhaps, with a little encouragement, she’ll honor us with a song….?’ After Gene finished a sweet and warm arrangement of ‘Blue Skies…’ no applause sign was needed to prompt the ovation she received!”
First Stop Chicago is circa 1941 and was designed by Lynne Day
I purchased the doll and outfit from the Ashton Drake Doll Catlog the years they were released.
