United States Historical Society’s Mary Todd Lincoln
12″ Mary Todd Lincoln by the United States Historical Society. The doll was issued by the society in 1984. An interesting historical note is that Mrs Lincoln dress and many others were originally made by Elizabeth Keckley, a former slave who would buy her own freedom and become one of the most successful dressmaker in Washington D.C. Elizabeth also would become a close friend and confident of Mary Lincoln.
The doll was issued in 1984 and I would purchase her in 2011 from a seller in Roxbury, Connecticut.
