8″ Composite Thumbs Up Victory Doll by Margit Nilsen. The dolls were produced in 1941 by Margit Nilsen Studios Dolls. The dolls were advertised to encourage people to: ” buy to aid the British Campaign”. The money raised from the sales were used to purchase medicine and ambulances for Britain during World War II. The production ended after the United States entered the war. I purchased the doll in 2011 from a seller in Hoover, Alabama.
