11 3/4″ Cloth Temple Dancer from Bangkok Dolls. The doll represents dancers from old Siam and is performing a traditional ballet based on the Ramayana, an early San Script epic. The lavish costume of silk is covered with gold and silver embroidery which is sewn and fitted on the dancer just before the performance. I purchased the doll in 1973 from the Shopping International Catalog.
