25″ Bisque Special Edition Adolph Wislizenus Doll. Wislizenus began his involvement in the making of doll in 1870’s. His company would change hands several time until 1931 when the firm would file for bankruptcy.
The firm’s doll heads had been supplied by Bahr & Proschild or Simon & Halbig and after 1910 by Ernst Heubach or Armand Marseille. The dolls may have been distributed in the U.S. by Hamburger & Company.
I purchased the doll in 2022 from the Doll Hospital in Spring, Texas. She is originally from the estate collection of Nancy Louise Padue, a long time collector.
