Harry S. Truman was our 33rd U.S. President. “Give-Em Hell Harry” is fondly remembered as the plain people’s president. He captured the hearts of America with his whistle-stop tours aboard the Truman Railroad Special. Running the Post World War II America was a formidable job. Truman’s leadership and vision brought about the Fair Deal and the Marshall Plan. He united the Allies under NATO and worked feverishly to create a viable international forum for peace, The United Nations (1945). Truman was a true advocate of civil rights and fair employment practices. He was the first to propose Federal Health Insurance. Throughout his two eventful terms as President, Truman led with courage, determination, and resolve with his motto of “The Buck Stops Here.” He led the fight against the spread of communism in the Korea War and in the federal government.
Harry S. Truman is the seventh in the President Collection by Effanbee. Standing 16″ tall Truman features a wool double breasted pin stripe suit, bowtie, hat, and glasses. This faithful portrait doll is fully jointed, all vinyl with molded hair and life-like painted eyes. Strictly limited to a one year production.”
I purchased the doll in 2007 from a seller in York, Pennsylvania.
