Fox Warrior: ” Bear’s Track”

Fox Indian WarriorBackview of Fox Warrior13″ Plastic Fox Tribe Late 1700’s Warrior: Bear’s Track. The doll came with the following information:” The Fox were located in the southern Great lakes area stretching from Ohio westward to Iowa. They were very closely allied with the neighboring Sauk tribe and the two tribes are often considered as the Sauk & Fox Nation.

Bear’s Track is shown with the head roach which was a distinct mark of the Sauk & Fox warriors. Men decorated their faces as a sign of their valor and prowess as hunters and warriors. He is also wearing a faux Grizzle Bear claw necklace. This style of necklace was greatly prized by the Fox tribe. Today the Fox Tribe populations are found in Oklahoma, Iowa, and Kansas.

The doll was designed by Ruben M. Tejada for the Sandy Doll’s Limited Edition Warrior Series. I purchased the doll in 2008 from a seller in Cave Junction, Oregon.
