9″ Porcelain Woman from Kastoria by the Evelt Doll Company. ( Kastoria is a city in northern Greece in the region of West Macedonia. It is situated on a promontory on the western shore of Lake Orestiada, in a valley surrounded by limestone mountains.) The doll is wearing a costume which is a replica of the Greek Fashion Collection in the Athens Museum.
The doll originally belonged to Patti Burnham, a Houston Doll Collector and Artist. Her collection was donated by her husband to the Houston Baptist Doll Museum and was being sold as a fund raiser for the museum. I would purchase her in 2014 at the First Houston, Texas Doll Club Doll Show.
