12″ Loofa Vegetable Sponge Dolls by Anna Z. Canatselos of St Petersburg, Florida. The dolls have a tag which reads: ” The Loofa is a vegetable sponge from the gourd family. It grows on a vine in Florida and elsewhere. No two are alike. Handmade by Anna Z. Canatselos of St. Petersburg, Florida.” The dolls are originally from a collector of primarily Native American items. I was able to purchase the dolls from a seller in Longwood, Florida in 2014.
