In Collector’s Encyclopedia of Barbie the following information was provided: ” Pop Culture Collection 2003 Barbie as “That Girl” honors the first show to focus on a single working girl, which debuted on television September 8, 1966, and ran five seasons and 136 episodes. Aspiring actress and model Ann Maria, played by Marlo Thomas, left Brewster, New York, to follow her dreams of fame and fortune in Manhattan. With her mod clothes, quirky charm, and sparkling smile, she took on every challenge. The doll as Ann Marie wears a beautifully detailed ensemble inspired by the show’s opening film montage. She wears a navy blue suit consisting of a skirt and striking double-breasted jacket accented by red and blue trim and golden buttons. Her hair is carefully styled in Ann Marie’s famous flip hairdo and is topped by a jaunty white hat, and accessories include a red purse with golden chain, white net stocking, white gloves, and shoes. She has the Generation Girl head mold with rooted eyelashes.”
The doll is from Mattel Toys Celebrity Dolls Collection and I would purchase her in 2003 from the Barbie by Mail Catalog.
