“Mimi Rothschild has devoted most of her life to creating images of children. She originally specialized in children’s photographic portraits before bring her abilities to the three-dimensional arts of sculpture and doll design. Her famous designs have been highly honored, earning her two Doll of the Year nominations by the International Doll Academy. Ms. Rothschild’s art has been reviewed as “a captivating mix of classic realism and romantic expressionism….so flawlessly conceived that, whenever a room is fortunate enough to be graced with a Rothschild, one often has the feeling of being in the presence of a lost friend…” In addition to her demanding schedule of collector doll design, Ms. Rothschild also accepts five commissions each year to create children’s bust sculpture. Demand is so high for her sculptures and original collector dolls that each requires a three to six month wait.
Ms. Rothschild and her husband live in Pennsylvania with their four children who, along with their young friends, often serve as models for Ms. Rothschild’s work. As the artist’s mark of excellence, your doll bears the signature of Mimi Rothschild. It is individually hand-numbered and comes with the corresponding Certificate of Authority.
