7 1/2″ Cloth 1940’s Ravca Normandy Lady. I purchased the doll in 1976 from Elaine Luartes’ Athena Antiques in Edina, Minnesota.
The doll came with the following information: ” Grandmere Jeanne-Marshall Fields Chicago Store, August 1940. These dolls were handmade in France and they are excellent examples of the art of doll making as well as charming pictures of the class. The wooden sabots (shoes) dark serviceable homespun, and weathered countenances are true to type. Many different villages and provinces are represented so the dress as well as facial expression varies in these highly individual and folk characters.”
