8″ Cloth Doll by Tatiana. The doll was offered through the Sovietski Collection of “Treasures from a By Gone Era” of San Diego, California. The doll came with the following information:
“This charming folk doll is outfitted in the traditional dress of a Russian village. Tatiana , the doll creator is a disabled Russian artist from a small village outside Saint Petersburg. With the help from her daughters and granddaughters, she carefully and lovingly creates each one-of-kind winsome Russian maiden. Because of the extensive handwork involved, a limited quantity is produced each month. Made with love from Russia, these handmade traditional Russian folk dolls are fast becoming prized collectible in the United States. The Russian Museum Collection is imported by Fulcrum Trading International of San Diego, California.”
I purchased the doll in 1998 from the Sovietski Catlog.
