13″ Cloth Dutch Couple. Both dolls are missing their hats, but the style of the rest of their costume suggest they represent Volendam. The dolls origin is a bit of a mystery. This pair is from a set of five couples all representing different countries. The dolls have no marking but could possibly be from the 1940’s. I purchased the set of dolls in 2004 at the First Houston Doll Show. The seller who was from the Dallas, Texas area said they came from a collection from up north.
