15 1/2″ Vinyl 2001 “Violet Waters: Swingtime Serenade”. Violet is designed to represent a 1941 jazz band singer in Paris and her story is as follows:
“It was said that the only thing more beautiful than Violet Waters’ face was her voice. It was a voice that perfectly suited her name, smooth and flowing, with a silver ripple that gave no hint of the rocks and turns hidden beneath the surface.
These rocks and turns had been a lifelong reality for Violet. But they were only things to conquer and overcome, because Violet was a girl with dreams—and a gift to share with the world.”
Violet is wearing the 2001 “Chocolate Truffles “outfit. The storyline for this outfit is as follows:
“A sweet confection that makes the phrase ‘too much of a good thing’ obsolete. “Chocolate Truffle” is a cocoa brown dress and jacket combination, with a teal blue hat…and designed exclusively for Madra by Jim Howard.”
(For more information on Violet and Gene friendship see:”1998 Annual Edition Gene”.)
I purchased the doll and outfit the same year from the Ashton Drake Doll Catalog.
