19″ Porceline “Wedding In A Sun-Filled Arbor” by Cindy McClure for Ashton Drake Dolls’ “Wedding In A Sun-Filled Arbor Collection.”
Ashton Drake provided the following story line:
“In the dappled sunlight at high noon, this bride takes her vows in a garden arbor. Within the respectful silence that accompanies the ceremony, the song of birds and the buzzing of bees can be heard. As she leaves the garden, an array of sun-drenched roses catches this bride’s eye. She pauses, rest her hands on her hips, and absorbs their beauty and fragrance. She knows she will hold the memory of this garden, and her perfect wedding day, forever in her heart.
This bride’s gown is of silky charmeuse with a layered overskirt of shimmering netting. The beaded bodice accentuates the gathered bustline, with a fluid drape of chiffon around each graceful shoulder. Her bridal hat and bouquet feature flowers from the very garden in which she weds.”
Ms. McClure also added:” The brides in the collection aren’t afraid to show off their beauty and femininity in dramatic ways. I loved being able sculpt them in such gorgeous, graceful poses, and then add gowns that both reveal and conceal so exquisitely. I think that many of us probably have a secret dream of dressing up like this, if only we knew we would look this lovely if we did!”
This is one of four dolls from the Now Is The Hour of Love Collection, which I was purchased in 2003.
